Szoboszlai transfer rumors - "High possibility that he is moving to a big club"

Red Bull Salzburg are preparing for the departure of the midfield star Dominik Szoboszlai. "Of course, we would like to have a player like him as long as possible at our club, but on the other hand it is also healthy to make the next step at the right time," Salzburg's sporting director Christoph Freund said to the podcast DAB | Der Audiobeweis. 

That next step could happen in January. "Let's see what happens in the winter but there is a high possibility that he is moving to a big club," Freund said but also pointed out that he believes that Szoboszlai still has room to improve. "His next step in his development has to be to use his full potential and output in every single game. Those are the last few percentage points Domi has to work on."

It remains open whether Szoboszlai will make his next step in Salzburg or as Freund pointed out in another league with a different challenge. Sport Bild recently reported that the 20-year-old will join RB Leipzig this winter. The attacking midfielder will cost €20 million, plus performance-based add-ons, and would become the 18th player to move from RB to RB. But whatever shirt Szoboszlai will wear, Freund is certain that Szoboszlai will become one of the most interesting midfielders in Europe over the coming years.
