IF ELFSBORG boss Jimmy Thelin has emerged as a shock contender for the Aberdeen job.
SunSport can reveal under-fire Dons chiefs are weighing up an approach for the highly-rated Swede.
Thelin, 45, held talks with the Pittodrie club when they were looking for a new manager 12 months ago.
He impressed in hush-hush discussions during that interview process but lost out to Barry Robson.
But the desperate Dons are now under serious pressure to make a new appointment - with Thelin believed to be one of the names on their short-list.
As yet, there has been NO formal approach to IF Elfsborg with Dons chairman Dave Cormack yet to make a firm decision on which direction he wants to go in next.
But sources in Sweden believe the Allsvenskan club are braced for the possibility of that changing in the coming days.
